Choral Reading
Choral reading is a shared reading experience. The teacher begins by selecting a patterned, predictable text at the independent level of most readers. She reads the text aloud and discusses the text as she reads. Afterward, students are invited to participate in reading the text together (either in its entirety or excerpts). As students read aloud, they practice using the same phrasing and intonation used by the teacher during the model.
