Reader's Theater
Reader’s Theater is a dramatic presentation of a written work. It provides children opportunity for multiple rereading of the same text which helps to improve fluency. This approach allows students to practice phrasing, expression, intonation, and inflection through repeated practice. Meant only to be presented orally, reader’s theater does not require memorization, costumes, special lighting, props, or scenery. Students are encouraged to convey understanding of character, setting, and plot through the reading and interaction of parts in the script.
