Questioning -- Literacy A-Z

Questioning

Questioning is a comprehension strategy that readers use to clarify confusion and fuel their desire to know more. Questioning requires that readers be actively engaged with the texts they are reading. When readers ask questions, they are inclined to read to seek answers. The quest to find answers propels the reader deeper into the text and encourages thinking and wondering which makes reading a richer, more satisfying experience.
