Accountability

Accountability is the policy of holding schools, districts, administrators, and teachers accountable for students’ academic growth. In a movement to ensure that children are getting a good education and tax dollars are not being wasted, policymakers are focusing on accountability, linking success, progress, and achievement with rewards such as merit pay and failure with punishment such as decreased funding and denial of tenure.
