Any workshop, be it reading or writing, should conclude with a share. Share time gives students the opportunity to process their learning. During share time students articulate what they understand of the concept presented, what difficulties or successes they experienced, or the questions that came up during independent practice. Time for sharing helps the teacher to determine how effective the days’ mini lesson was and helps her to identify areas to target during future instruction.
