Units of Study

Unit of study is a term that refers to a comprehensive learning opportunity in either reading or writing. Lasting anywhere from two to six weeks, a unit of study invites students to explore any one of a number of topics in depth for the purpose of becoming more proficient readers and writers. 
 
While there is some overlap in reading and writing units of study, some possible units of study for each are as follows:
