Miscue -- Literacy A-Z

Miscue

Miscue is the term used to describe an error a child makes when reading aloud. Miscues are recorded during running record keeping for the purpose of miscue analysis.

Errors made while reading provide information about students’ reading patterns and processes that can be used to inform instruction targeted at meeting the needs of individual students.
